To all LAMCO veterans
Hello,
I returned to Liberia after 25 or so years in exile. It felt like...home. It smells the same, it sounds the same, the same red dust. What a joy and what a sadness! But although the scenery is the same, it is a different country. UN military is omnipresent ( thank you, peacekeepers ) which keeps reminding you that calm and stability may be ever so superficial. There is barbed wire, fence and uniformed security personnell everywhere, which reminds you that crime rate is high.
Buchanan felt far more safe than Monrovia though, which I found really scary at first, but quite enjoyed after I got adjusted.
This blog is aimed to you who lived in the LAMCO area in Buchanan.
I will post pictures here little by little so please check back now and then. Or subscribe.
Thank you
Pelle
